The LeBron James Effect

After Lebron James announced on national television that he is not playing with the Cleveland Cavaliers any more, the city immediately felt its big loss. That night, the huge billboard of the player was torn down and all his images in the city were removed. In local shops, all shirts, mugs, basketball bearing his name and signature were also kept and hidden for good. Jerseys with the number twenty-three were discarded and in his very colleagues junked their mementos of him. Overnight, the most beloved player became the most hated villain of the city’s history.

Millions were dumb founded when they learned the news. His fans could never understand why he came up with such a decision. It was well known that he was able to help Cleveland’s economy when he rose to stardom and everybody thought that it would stay that way. The city made a unanimous generalization that James act was understandable but it is not done in a preserving way.

Right now, Cleveland is still contemplating why their most beloved and talented players continues to leave them. James was able to attract a lot of tourists and investors to the city and the economy by then seemed to be stable. Now that he is gone, the city was left with a very low income and angry, hurt citizens. Though the Cleveland mayor, Frank Jackson said that there is nothing personal between James and the city, the painful blow will remain a bruise in the hearts of the citizens for a long time. As of now, though Cleveland seems to be going back to normal, there is no doubt that their tourism is at a low rate and their sales are not picking up. Investors are pulling out and the city is struggling hard to support its remaining habitants.

The Cavaliers on the other hand is faced with the challenge brought about by the exodus of their best player. Now, they have to fill up James’ place in the roster with someone who will compensate for the loss. Though they can trade players, the coach wanted to see if the team could work together to be title contenders still.

As for Miami, things are going on smoothly. With another NBA star on their territories, Miami’s economy is booming and soaring up high. Tourists are flocking to see the NBA stars and investors are establishing businesses there like there’s no tomorrow.  The Miami Heats are confident that they will emerge victorious as another MVP was added to their roster.

Meanwhile, in Cleveland, as the people begin to reestablish their city and reclaim themselves, James Lebron was no longer part of anybody’s memory. Though the world may Cleveland as a worthless dump that is deserving of James’ departure, its citizens are still proud of their dump.

Hawaii .. is Immigration a REAL problem??

While I can understand the frustration levels of people, there’s just something about the Law that just doesn’t feel right. I completely agree some sort of enforcement needs to be done but would caution people to remember that “Domestic Terrorism” poses a far bigger risk to America’s future than Mexican’s crossing the Border .. Like the Bombing of Los Angeles Times building, Wall Street bombing, Unabomber attacks, Animal Liberation Front, Oklahoma City bombing, Centennial Olympic Park bombing, Centennial Olympic Park bombing, 2001 anthrax attacks, Army of God, Holocaust Memorial Museum shooting, Austin IRS attack, Symbionese Liberation Army, Black Liberation Army, Earth Liberation Front, Jewish Defense League, the Weathermen and of course the Ku Klux Klan .. All home grown. Every inner-city across America deals has been dealing with crime for 100 years .. I guess crime just spilled over to the Upper-City. Create a Law that makes sense using Wisdom, Knowledge and most of all compassion. We (U.S.A.) are bigger than that.

Think about it

LeBron or not to LeBron that is the Question?

Well I’ve let the shock wear off and come down off the wall but STILL believe .. I “WITNESSED” LeBron James quitting. Yes, Quitting .. giving up … saying Uncle .. taking your toys OUT of the sandbox and going home (Which in his case may be New York or Chicago).  I’m old enough to remember watching Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, Larry Bird, Kareem, Sir Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Dr. J, Kobe, Shaq and the great Michael Jordan and NEVER remember ever questioning if any of these guys gave their ALL .. what I saw can only be described as uninterested, lack-luster, indifferent or as a weekend warrior baller I would say that brotha checked out. He really looked like he did not care .. one foot was out the door. Tomorrow Boston will win .. why .. 4 semi-great players will always beat 1 very good player .. Here’s a thought for the future .. being physically gifted and having the heart of a champion rarely come in the same body .. Maybe that’s what scouts should be measuring.

Memo to LeBron .. they better CARRY YOU OFF THE COURT TOMORROW .. WIN OR LOSE

Top Level Hawaii - Televison, Meet the Internet

I read this article in Inc. Magazine and I thought I’d share my thoughts on it. The article was on how the Internet is slowly replacing Television .. well at least Television as we know it. So then the article goes on to say that soon the best video content will be available on your Television .. nothing groundbreaking there … BUT this spring my peeps over at LG will start shipping 42 and 47 inch LCD Televisions (Check Model LH50) that will plug into your Ethernet cable and deliver NetCast Entertainment Access that will allow you to watch ALL your TV stations without the need for external devices like SLINGBOX or TiVo (Now that’s New). I’m always telling my business clients that the WEB (Internet) is the Future and that if you’re not thinking about your online presence in 5 years .. you may not HAVE a presence. Everyday I wake up I go straight to my computer .. many, many years ago I absolutely hated it .. BUT NOW .. it’s a part of my LIFE that I love.
